SAJIDA Foundation with support of SNV Netherlands Development Organisation initiated Working with Women: Phase Two to create awareness on gender based violence and mental health wellbeing among 3500 RMG workers, 158 mid-level management and welfare officers for ensuring gender-based violence free environment for RMG workers.
From January 2018 to December 2019, the project has completed 3500 workers’ orientation on “Gender Based Violence and Mental Health”, 158 mid-level managers’ training and developed 41 mental health first aider, formed 4 Anti-Harassment Committee at factory and developed 58 committee members to deal with the complaint. In addition to that, under the project SAJIDA developed 15 Welfare Officer as para-counsellors for para-counselling, who have been performing their duties efficiently. Alongside these activities, a psychosocial-counsellor has also been assigned for referral cases. The program regularly observes various days in factory premises like World Mental Health day and 16 days Activism for Gender Based Violence to further create awareness and educate RMG workers.
