SAJIDA Foundation participated in the workshop on “Land Management, Vetting and Acquaintance of Land Documents” organized by Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Dept. of Law on 19 November 2018. On behalf of SAJIDA Foundation Md. Ahsan Habib, General Manager, Admin & Infrastructure, Md. Ershad Ali, Sr. Coordinator, Admin and Md. Emran Hossain, Focal Point (Legal), SHEC & Working with Women attended the workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by Lt Col Siraj Uddin Ahmed (Retd) PSC, Chairman Department of Law, BUP. The Chief Guest of the event was Brig. Gen. Siddiqul Alam Sikder, BSP, NDC, Dean FSSS, BUP.
The first speaker of the workshop was an academician, Christine Richardson, Dean Faculty of Law Jagannath University who discussed about the historical background of land laws of BD and different legal term used in land documents.
The second speaker was a governmental official, Nazma Nahar, former Assistant Commissioner (Land), Gulshan and Tejgaon zone who discussed about mutation, purpose of mutation, responsibilities of Assistant Commissioner (Land) to settle land related dispute etc. with her practical experience;
The third speaker was civil law practitioner Advocate Asadur Rahman, Advocate Supreme Court, who discussed about land related dispute, requirements of a valid deed, identification of a valid deed and other relevant topics.
