On 11 November, SAJIDA Foundation held an inception meeting as the first step to implement their project Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Localization Model, at the Ward Councillors office. A total of 52 participants attended the meeting, including DRR experts, members of ward disaster management committee, officials from Fire Service and Civil Defence, representatives from different NGOs, officials from NAHAB, along with local youth volunteers among others.
Md Fazlul Haque, Senior Director of Development Programs, SAJIDA Foundation, delivered the welcome speech focusing briefly on the Foundation’s vision and its history, also delving into the main objectives of the DRR Localization Model. Project goals and activities were discussed by S. M. Mohammad Ullah, Coordinator, SAJIDA Foundation, while the technicalities of the project were touched upon by Md Abdul Latif Khan.
Mrs Khaleda Alam, Co-Chair at the event along with being the Ward Councillor of DSCC thanked SAJIDA Foundation and NAHAB for their initiative as local councillor Hazi Md Masud expressed his gratitude and ended with a promise to provide his continued support in the fulfilment of the project goals.
