SAJIDA FOUNDATION’S AGRICULTURE UNIT STEPPED UP AND HELPED THE FARMERS

With the current restriction on movement, SAJIDA Foundation’s Agriculture Unit came to the aid of farmers who are unable to reach buyers, thus suffering a blow to their livelihood. Also members of the Microfinance Program, SAJIDA has initiated a project to bring individual buyers to these marginal vegetable producers, and help them get the right price to cover their costs.

SAJIDA Agriculture Unit provides advisory service, technical training and market linkage to local farmer community and the microfinance members. As such, deliveries are made twice a week to urban households through our volunteers; giving the farmers a chance to sell their produce at fair price, while the urban communities get access to organic fresh fruits and vegetables.
