SAJIDA Foundation in collaboration with Canadian health professionals Team Broken Earth kicked-off a three-day hands-on training program on High Risk Labour and Delivery Management for healthcare professionals with an inauguration ceremony on 12 November.

The event inaugurated by Director General of Health Services – Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Md Abul Kalam Azad, chaired by National Professor Ms. Shahla Khatun, was also graced by the presence of Honourable First Secretary – Development, Canadian High Commission to Bangladesh, Ms. Gabrielle Mathieu. Also present at the event were Ms. Zahida Fizza Kabir, Executive Director of SAJIDA Foundation along with Dr Andrew Furey, CEO and Founder of Team Broken Earth with his team.

The three-day comprehensive training designed to help health practitioners provide better care for women during labour, their foetuses, as well as new-borns and their families; successfully ended on 14 November with a certificate giving ceremony held after the final training session. The program that was sponsored by Renata Pharmaceuticals, awarded certificates to a total of 109 participants who successfully completed all three days of the training.

Team Broken Earth followed up with visit to SAJIDA Hospital Keraniganj to provide doctors an opportunity to strengthen their capacities, and ended their stay spending time with the beneficiaries of SAJIDA’s Amrao Manush program, taking part in a colourful and fun-filled, musical afternoon. At the event, children and adults from the program had the opportunity to engage with Team Broken Earth through games, colouring session, followed by dancing and music joined in by Samir Obaid to present Amrao Manush’s song Shopno to the audience. Their visit ended on a high note as Broken Earth shared their gratitude to SAJIDA Foundation for hosting them for the fifth year and looks forward to coming back the next
