Global Handwashing Day is a reminder of the importance of clean hands, and how not ensuring it leads to yearly 272 million children losing schooldays to diarrheal disease, as well as 50% of the all infections acquired. In keeping with this year’s theme of “Clean Hands for All” along with the values of SAJIDA, WASH4UrbanPoor celebrated Global Handwashing Day with various communities including the Telugu Community.

A rally was also held after with a white banner that had the colourful handprints of children and letter cards with Global Handwashing Day spelled out.

Similarly, Ali Ahmed School & College and Khilgaon High School celebrated the day with Handwashing demonstration, soap drive, art competition and colourful participatory rally to create awareness as WASH4UP wants to create maximum level of awareness among the beneficiaries for sustaining personal hygiene practices.
