As part of its continued efforts to ensure safe and sustainable organic, and pesticide-free production of vegetables, SAJIDA’s Agriculture Unit organized programs in Rauzan and Hathazari regions of Chattogram to distribute grants and necessary resources to farmers on 13 and 22 January. Alongside income grants, various necessary resources were distributed at these programs including sex-pheromone traps, urea super granule for paddy, yellow sticky trap, lure, vermi compost etc. to reduce use of chemical fertilizers and insecticide under Kuwait Goodwill Fund Program. Goats were also handed to farmers for enhanced livelihood opportunities.
SAJIDA Foundation has carried out development activities since 2013 under Microfinance’s Agricultural and Livestock Unit to ensure income generation for the rural community. Focusing on innovation, the program offers food and livelihood security through farming and livestock rearing conventions. Through awarding grants, training, teaching and organizing various workshops, SAJIDA has actively worked in alignment with SDG 1 to eradicate poverty and ensure health, happiness and dignity for all.
