“Farmer’s Field Day” was observed on March 7 – 8, 2018 at Nandir Hat and Samitir Hat, under Hathazari and Fatikchari Upazilas. It was jointly organized by SAJIDA Foundation and Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and aimed to reduce the use of harmful pesticides used in farming. Around 250 farmers participated in the program where they were briefed on how to produce fresh fruits and vegetables by substituting harmful pesticides with natural methods such as Pheromone trap, Sticky trap, Beam trap, Parching etc. Moreover, rallies were held along with pragmatic demonstration and technical discussion on how to produce fresh agricultural products. Awareness regarding the use of pesticides and its hazardous impact to health were also discussed in the program. The discussion was presided by Md. Yusuf Ali, Regional Manager, SAJIDA Foundation. Also present at the program were Mr. Sajjadul Islam, PKSF representative; Mr. Monerul Islam Khan, Director, SAJIDA Foundation, Mr. Shekh Abdullah Wahed, Upazila Agriculture Officer and others.
