Improving Livelihood for Urban Extreme Poor (ILUEP) – Pavement Dweller Centre (PDC) Program, receives Generous Donation from M. Abul Kashem

On April 16, 2018 Maniknagar Pavement Dweller Centre (PDC) received a generous donation of a deep freezer and clothes iron from M. Abul Kashem for the children of Maniknagar PDC. SAJIDA Foundation extends heartfelt appreciation for his goodwill and important contribution.

SAJIDA’s ILUEP-PDC Program, formerly known as Amrao Manush Program, with the support of Concern Worldwide, Irish Aid and private donors, work towards improving the lives of urban extreme poor including pavement dwellers, slum dwellers and squatter dwellers. SAJIDA currently operates seven Pavement Dweller Centers in Dhaka and Chittagong where pavement dwellers, particularly working mothers and their children are able to find safe havens. They find in the centers a place to cook, rest, bathe, leave their children in the hands of able caregivers, receive healthcare, legal support and slowly work towards leading an improved life of health, happiness and dignity. The centers facilitate a well-rounded life where children are able to eat and rest well and have access to non-formal education and express themselves through various creative mediums.

  1. A splendid article, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing a little analysis on this. And he in fact purchased me lunch because I found it for him :). So let me rephrase that: Thanks for the treat! But yeah Thankx for taking the time to talk about this, I feel strongly about it and enjoy learning more on this topic. If possible, as you become expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more info? It is extremely helpful for me. Two thumb up for this article!
