SAJIDA Foundation’s Home & Community Care Ltd (HCCL) program is designed to cater to the needs of the elderly and chronically-ill; through in-home caregivers, nurses, and doctors. The goal is to create a safe and convenient setting at home for effective clinical recovery and management. HCCL aims to be a one-stop delivery solution that brings healthcare to the bedside.

The Home and Community Care program has been specifically designed to address the needs of the elderly and chronically ill who often require compassionate health care at home. Whether you want to create a safe environment for your loved one while you are at work, or someone to assist your relative with their daily living activities, or even nursing services for someone who requires professional expertise such as tube feeding or airway management – SAJIDA Home and Community Care offers versatile, flexible, and customized services that you can trust.

If you’re caring for a family member with health problems, you may feel exhausted as you juggle care-giving duties with work, parenting and managing your household. In fact, Bangladesh’s working-age population is facing an increasingly demanding lifestyle, which often requires them to be absent from home for extended periods. These factors place a burden on the quality and consistency of care that can be provided by the family in the home. We take a compassionate and attentive approach to plan services that help balance everyone’s needs. Our professional caregiving team includes nurses, paramedics, counsellors, physiotherapists and physicians so we can provide excellent out-patient services at home.

Personal Care

Personal Care

We recognize that elders wish to spend their twilight years at home, so they can maintain their freedom and dignity. Our home-caregiving services are a reliable option if your aged relative is experiencing a temporary illness such as influenza or minor stroke, requiring a little extra support for a few months. Staying at home not only allows for healing contact with family and friends, it also reduces the harmful disorientation many elderly people experience while in hospital.

Individualized Services

Our first assessment occurs at an at-home intake visit, where we will begin exploring the structure of services that best suit your family needs. We have organized the care that we provide into three levels, each serving different needs. We are able to mix levels as a total care package to meet every aspect of your requirements.

Professional Supervision

The Home and Community Care management team includes experienced senior nurses who make regular visits to assess the quality of care that we are providing. They also monitor staff performance, check documentation and solicit feedback from clients and their family members. Our back-office staff include accountants and analysts who monitor all accounts to ensure that our services are invoiced with the integrity for which SAJIDA Foundation is well-recognized. The Elder Care program benefits from the advice of international experts who share best practices in professional development sessions with our management team.

Trained Caregivers

All our caregivers undergo comprehensive training from their supervisors who are professional nurses (BSN minimum). Before hiring, caregiver applicants undergo rigorous assessment to understand their experience, motivation and suitability. Level-2 caregivers are paramedics, or have diplomas in nursing, and many of them have been trained in our own hospital-based Institute of Health Sciences under the mentorship of doctors, nurses and trained personnel from BSMMU. Level-3 caregivers are diploma and BSN nurses with experience in caring for acutely ill patients. Training for all caregivers begins with a week-long orientation followed by day-long refresher sessions on varied topics every three months. While making their regular home visits, our supervisors also provide just-in-time training tailored to the need of specific clients.

We Value Your Feedback

Your feedback about your loved one’s needs, likes and dislikes, is crucial in helping us care for them in a way that improves their quality of life. Every individual is different and our approach reflects our respect for the differences. We understand the importance of maintaining one’s identity and dignity, especially as a person ages. Our team of supervisors regularly communicate with our clients to get feedback about our services and we incorporate this feedback into our training for caregivers.

“Senior citizens face many challenges as they age. Some of these problems can be helped with the support of professional in-home caregivers. I am proud to work with a team of Canada-based volunteers to train SAJIDA Home and Community Care staff. The values of SAJIDA Foundation are very similar to our Canadian health care philosophy and I have directly observed the commitment and compassion shown by Sajida’s managers and caregivers.”
