Health and Livelihood Activities by SAJIDA’s SAMRIDDHI Program

On May 13, 2018, the SAMRIDDHI Program operated by SAJIDA with support from PKSF, organized a health camp on “Skin and Sexual health and their related Diseases” at their program office in Batazzore Union under Bakshibong sub-district of Jamalpur District. A total of 186 people – 50 male and 136 female – availed services from the health camp which was conducted by two specialized doctors.

Also on the 16th and 23rd of May, the SAMRIDDHI program organized two blood grouping campaigns where blood screening was carried out for 77 people. A 5-day long “Health and Nutrition” training was conducted at the program office from May 6, 2018- May 10, 2018 to improve the capacity building of the health officers. More over IGA training on “Safe and pesticide free vegetation” and “Cow, goat and turkey rearing and management” were also conducted by the Upazila Agriculture Officer and Livestock Officer of the program this month.

The Samriddhi programis an integrated development program being implemented by SAJIDA since 2013 in partnership with Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF). Samriddhi is currently implemented in Batazzore Union under Bakshibong sub-district of Jamalpur District. The program has a unique and inclusive approach to integrating an entire community, focusing mainly on health, education, and youth development activities, along with income generation, to sustainably strengthen the capacity. Through collaborative efforts with the local government and relevant stakeholders, the program aims to raise local community members out of poverty.
