SAJIDA Foundation’s SAMRIDDHI Program organized their Annual Sports and Cultural Competition on 29 January in Battajore, Jamalpur. The event was attended by all the members of the program and the youth community, alongside students of the Centre for Education Assistance, as well as the teachers and invited guests. Md Sahejal Haque, President and Head Master of Jinnah Bazar Nagar Mamud High School raised the national flag inaugurating the event, commencing the 25 individual events of the Annual Sport and Cultural Competition. One of the biggest events of the competition is the football game, which was inaugurated by the chief guest, Md Sultan Mahmud, Upazila Youth Development Officer of Bakshiganj Upazila. The event ended with a prize ceremony that rewarded all the students and players for their exceptional performance and wins at the individual games.
Since 2013, SAJIDA has been implementing SAMRIDDHI – referred to as Enhancing Resources and Increasing Capacities of Poor Households towards Elimination of their Poverty (ENRICH) – an integrated program in partnership with Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) to develop an entire community in Battajore Union under Jamalpur District. By focusing on health, education, youth development, income generation activities and involvement of local government and relevant stakeholders, SAMRIDDHI aims to raise local community members out of poverty.
